As patron saint of immigrants, there could be no better time than to release a new icon of this incredible saint - St. Frances Xavier Cabrini.Having always dreamed of being a missionary to China or India, Mother Cabrini was disappointed when, after all her perseverance, the Pope sent her instead to New York, where the Italian immigrant population was being discriminated against and suffering. Despite her own poor health, she and the Sisters set up an incredible network of social services for the Italians, and over many more years, opened schools, hospitals, and more, all over the world.Our donations this month will be going to Immigration Advocates Network, “harnessing the power of technology and collaboration to support immigrants and their allies”.
