This is the last new icon from our book, The Modern Saints, Portraits and Reflections on the Saints! The book’s second birthday is this week, and to celebrate, we are releasing the last image from it! 🎂

Catherine grew up in the royal court, but decided to enter religious life at the age of 14. Inspired by stories of Sts. Clare and Francis of Assisi, she founded her own monastery that encouraged simplicity and quiet. She took the most humble roles of baker, launderer, and animal caretaker, but spent her free time writing, illustrating, playing music, and constructing poetry. Her work was innovative, and she even illustrated her own 500 page prayer book.
