Building upon, rather than forgetting tradition...

Since a big part of the process of traditional iconography includes a process of purification/ separation from the rest of life for the iconographer, I try to do this in a few ways.

Popes are known to take the names of previous Popes who have inspired them, and while our current Pope Leo XIV is said to have been inspired by the last Pope Leo, XIII, who was the first that started this trend? What did he value?
